Instructor Level
I have been a WHM instructor since March 2022, practiced the method for another two years before that and my name is Linus Bjernheim-Vedin.
A name is just a name before you get to know the person, so here you get a little glimpse into my world.
Happiness has always been a big part of my personality and being. The primal state for me is to feel happiness and want to spread love, commitment and joy.
This has manifested itself in many different ways. Through singing, music, cooking, therapeutic involvement and non-profit involvement in young adults and youth.
The host, the sybarite, the debater and the questioner. All these epithets have emerged as character traits I appreciate and like to identify with.
My joy and ever-growing love for life and other people, comes from the dreamy nature experiences of my childhood. A lot of time was spent by the sea. I mean - how can you not get completely lyrical from seeing, feeling and being in the water. Diving, fishing and swimming were a natural part of childhood, regardless of whether it was summer or winter.
Even then I was addicted to the breath. The clean experience in one breath, borrowed time. Enter a forbidden world, which only exists if you choose to enter it yourself. Freediving at the amateur level has always followed me during my travels around Europe.
There is a clear WHM timeline for my family. Before the Wim Hof exercise and after. If you ask my children what happened in Poland when your father was away on his first instructor training, they will gladly tell you that "it was when dad became calm".
What more could you wish for?
Early in March during the first pandemic year, I chose not to take in the news feed, as it would affect me too much. Had only one thought; I can't get sick, or die. Because I have three small children and a wife, who are my world, and I theirs.
Intermittent (periodized) fasting was my first line of defense. Night walks with a work friend came in second.
When the day's affairs were finished and everyone had been fed and slept, we took our therapy walks, where we discussed everything about heaven and earth.
One evening in March, my colleague told me about the symptoms and the feeling when you get infected and maybe even die the corona death. "It feels like your chest doesn't want to expand, or that you even have the capacity to breathe and take in enough oxygen."
The experience of slowly drowning in your own body became all too real, as many times I thought about not reaching the surface of the water during my countless free dives as a youngster. Being let down by your own body. What an utterly nightmare, I thought quietly to myself. That same evening, I fell asleep in my bed and woke up to find myself drowning in darkness from shortness of breath. I woke up in a bit of a panic because of what I had experienced, filled with adrenaline, stress and the fear of dying.. I started searching the internet for ways to manage my condition. I don't really remember the other videos I came across, but it was a night of searching, until I saw the Vice documentary with Wim Hof. Something ignited there…
I had heard his name before from a family friend who works with energy healing. After I saw Yes Theory's documentary about Wim Hof, I was completely taken. That same night I breathed myself to sleep. What a night! Day two I consumed all things Wim, online. All the interviews, everything he's done.
After that I started taking my first cold showers. I hooked up the garden hose and showered outside. Started wearing shorts to work. Went for my evening walks in short sleeves and shorts. I was completely taken!
The decision to become a Wim Hof instructor was quickly reached. I already bathed in everything that was cold. Bought home large amounts of firewood, which of course was cut while wearing shorts sleeves and shorts. I quickly realized the amazing benefits of the method.
I tried not to scream my new found power in the faces of everyone around me…. It went that good…. My best friend felt like I had joined a cult. When the summer of 2020 came, I just walked in barefoot shoes and built a sauna at home on the plot.
Saunas combined with ice baths, snow baths or cooling conversations outside in many subzero temperatures are part of my family's sauna tradition. Long deep conversations about life have been settled and many conflicts have been resolved in the sauna. In some ways, I have the sauna to thank for my great relationship with my father and my best friend.
My connection to ice and snow has always been positive. Ice hockey, ice fishing, saunas and a family originally from the northern parts of Sweden. Where it is still really cold today, with a lot of snow. I like to identify myself as a northerner even though I grew up in Central Sweden. With all that I associate with the Norrland heritage, it was not difficult to become a cold exposure practitioner. It almost feels like there is little meaning, or that part of my journey is falling into place.
The more I engage in this method and these wonderful benefits and knowledge, the more I desire to share it with other seekers who are also in need of finding answers. It feels like my duty to give you the tools to awaken YOUR superpower, the tools to create a better life for yourself. Just as I received a life of abundance through the method, I also wish you the same, and my belief is that you will find what you are looking for if you choose to meet yourself in the breath and cold the exposure.
However, the biggest part of the method is mindset. But we can talk about that at my workshops. Welcome!I got the Power to move you.
