My first real experience with cold water was in Iceland. I had heard a story of a woman in her 70s who would swim in a northern bay every day for 15 to 20 minutes.  I'm a good swimmer, and so I didn't think it would be that big of a challenge.  I had done outdoor swims before, so I was confident I could handle the cold.  I was wrong, and I didn't even last 30 seconds!  There was no way someone could do this every day, and was the story even true?

Since then I've learned what our bodies are really capable of through the Wim Hof Method.  I started out on my own, but I really benefited from my first WHM Fundamentals workshop.  I really learned to appreciate the breathing and mindset.  I learned how they help you go into the cold.  It really helped me to grow my personal practice, and I built a cold tub for year round use. 

Wanting to experience and know more, I decided to go on a WHM Winter Expedition to Poland, and it was amazing!  I heard so many stories about what the WHM had done for others.  There was also some awesome growth and change that week with my fellow travelers.  Once I returned I began to see just how much stress and anxiety there is all around us.  It was weighing heavy on my heart, and I felt like I wanted to do something about it.  Just over a year later, I was headed to instructor training in Spain.

My entire career has centered around technology. I've always said I enjoy helping people, but something has been missing.  As an instructor I want to help people unlock the potential inside themselves, find peace, or just show them that they shouldn't be afraid of the cold.  I look forward to this new chapter in my career, and I'm excited to show others the Wim Hof Method and help them be happier, stronger, and healthy.
