My journey to the Wim Hof Method began in 2017 when I happened to see a book on Amazon with a half naked guy lowering himself into an icy river. After reading "What Doesn't Kill Us", I decided to give the breathing and cold showers a try. Yeah, didn't last long. I was too busy, I was a law enforcement officer, was going through a toxic divorce, I had two young girls, one with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, I was not in control and just trying to get through the days. My vision was too narrow and I needed something to help calm me down and lessen the anxiety within me. I was seeing a therapist and she was fantastic and it was helping with some of the anxiety, but I still felt unbalanced. So, I began taking a prescription medication to help with the anxiety. I think it began to work after a while, but I wasn't a big fan of taking meds. I met a woman, who is now my wife, and she changed everything. She held me accountable, she gave tough love, but at the end of the day, with all the emotions I was navigating, she stuck by my side. Then we watched Gweneth Paltrow's, "Goop Lab" episode with Wim Hof. That's when I restarted the breath work and cold showers. Fast forward to mid-2022 and I peeled myself off the medication. Eventually I was off them completely and absolutely felt the breath work and cold exposure was a big part of that transformation. After a while I felt a desire build within me to spread the message and the method. With the encouragement of my wife and a fellow WHM Instructor, I signed up!
In October 2023 I traveled to Spain where I received my Level 1 Instructor Certification from the Wim Hof Method Academy.
My wish is to encourage you to listen to your body and trust it. I'll help you push a little out of your comfort zone while also respecting the signals your body reveals. A gentle balance, and that's what it is all about, balance. No matter what you are looking for, stress relief, endurance, stronger immunity, the WHM can help. Be curious. Be brave. Search for your inner light. You are safe. Let's be happy, strong and healthy together!
We have two breaths that define our lives. Our first and our last. What we do in between with all those millions and millions of other breaths just might help keep that last one away for a long, long time.
