As a long time hot yoga practitioner I spent years of my life hating the cold! I was convinced that heat held the key to healing the body and that ice baths or polar plunges were just a fad that would pass. My mind was opened one day after seeing a tv show about Wim and the Wim Hof Method. Somehow Wim was able to push his body to do incredible things with the cold and was astonishing scientists and medical professionals with his method. It seemed he was somewhat of a superhuman on a mission to show others that they can be superhuman too. I knew that one day I wanted to tap into that inner strength.
A month or so later, I found myself experiencing my first dip in Lake Ontario in the middle of the cold Canadian winter. I felt a peace wash over me that I had never experienced and knew that something truly powerful was happening. After incorporating the method into my daily life, within a few months I started noticing that the anxiety attacks, crying fits and vertigo I had been experiencing as a result of stress from my job had disappeared. A newfound confidence and optimism through practicing the method helped me come back to a better version of myself. When I had the realization of how much my life had improved, I knew that I wanted to give others the tools to help themselves too. In March 2023, I travelled to the Pyrenees Mountains in Spain where I completed the Instructor Academy Program and became an official Wim Hof Certified Instructor.
My mission as an instructor is to help you become happier, healthier and stronger while also showing you the power of your own mind. With every moment of sharing this method, I want to show that you are capable of so much more than you believe and that you can make the shift from staying in your comfort zone to leaning in and taking the plunge toward things you didn’t think were possible!
