Biography of Maks Birikov -
I have been interested in physical activity, the outdoors and the human body since I was young. I was born and raised in Eastern Europe, but spent my young adult years in Southwestern Asia and North America – competing in sports, exploring natural wonders and sharpening my observation skills. Thanks to my love and exposure to nature, I decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Biology in one of the most prestigious universities in the United States. I studied the basic foundations of life and how movement and homeostasis plays a vital role in the growth of a healthy living cell. After receiving my doctorate in physical therapy, I began my quest to eliminate the onset of pain, disease processes, and decay.
As I continued to expand my physical therapy practice, I worked alongside acupuncturists, chiropractors, neurologists, posturologists, master fitness coaches, yoga instructors, and mindfulness experts. Being surrounded by talented practitioners of these disciplines allowed me to be versatile and helped me craft a personalized approach to each one of my clients and workshops.
Once I discovered the Wim Hof method, a new chapter in my life began. The benefits I have experienced through this journey have been unmatched. As I dove deeper in the theory and research, I discovered a deeper passion and the drive to teach this method and bring the power of the Wim Hof method to my community.
