I have been a personal trainer and exercise referral instructor for 18 years. In that time I have worked with people from all walks of life, from professional sportsmen and women to those living with stroke, cancer and extra needs. In more recent years I have qualified as a Wellbeing in Nature and Forest Bathing practitioner.
Regaining my own nature connection during the pandemic, and wanting to guide others to do the same, helped lead me to the Wim Hof Method. What better way is there to make that nature connection than by tapping into your own?
I have taken part in several endurance sports from Ironman to paddleboard racing, all dominated by finishing with a broken body, hypothermia and severely low mood. Something had to change, so I began practicing the WHM in January 2024 and the results were outstanding. After just a few weeks my energy levels, mood, recovery and resistance to the cold had improved dramatically. The real tester came in July later that year when I entered my 4th Fan Dance (an event that covers the British Special Forces selection route in the Brecon Beacons). Conditions were so bad that several participants were hospitalised with hypothermia. I made my peace with the mountain and approached it as an equal, not an enemy. Not only did I fnish in high mood, pain-free and with plenty of energy left I beat my previous best time by 34 minutes! I know that I owe this to consistent practice of the 3 Pillars of the WHM. I have also spent the last 12 months without illness and in a constant state of optimism.
Why wouldn't I want to share that with you?
