Throughout my life I have always been fascinated by the idea of optimizing human health and potential. Especially the concept of energy and how it works in the body, emotions, the nervous system and the chemistry between hormones and oxygen.
Over the course of the last few years I have noticed one thing in particular: We humans are not able to fully thrive when we are in constant stress response to our environment. Even when you take something as simple as eating for example: Let’s say you eat healthy, but at the same time you are under a lot of stress - your body will not be able to absorb and break down food in the same way as when your nervous system is in a relaxed state.
I have experienced the negative side effects of our busy lives myself while I was working as a professional chef for over 15 years. I was working 6 days per week, 12 hours per day for many years. During that time I was suffering from severe migraines and chronic inflammation in my wrist.
This way of life - although quite common for someone with my previous profession - felt really wrong and unhealthy to me and I started investigating energy cultivation through Qi Gong, Yogic Philosophy and Taoism Healing Meditations. I noticed that every practice I came across had some sort of breathing technique incorporated. From this point going forward it was only a matter of time until I discovered the Wim Hof Method.
My first session was indescribable. For the first time I felt energy moving through my body combined with a deeply peaceful sensation.
Throughout the last years - with the help of the Wim Hof Method - I was able to release emotional tensions, balance the chemistry of my body which in return allowed me to take decisions from a place of courage and authenticity instead of fear.
I left my job, traveled the world and focused on experimenting, practicing and learning about Breathwork and Cold Exposure. (Current Location: Tulum, Mexico)
I found that it is not always about having more energy, it's about learning how to manage the energy available to us. We can learn this through the breath, the cold exposure and mindset. We can use the Wim Hof Method as a tool to tap into the deepest parts of our physiology and start to make changes to the chemistry. When our body's chemistry is right we are happy, strong and healthy.
